What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Ariana stated: I love competing, challenging myself, and being part of a team. I’ve played flag football, basketball, and cheer, and each sport has taught me something different. I love seeing my hard work pay off and making memories with my teammates. Now that I’m focusing on flag football, I’m excited to keep learning, getting better, and competing at a higher level.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Ariana stated: My Mom, Nana, Auntie Jennifer, G-Ma and coaches inspire me because they always encourage me and push me to do my best. I also look up to athletes who work hard and never give up. They show me that I can accomplish big things if I believe in myself and keep working. I want to be someone who inspires other kids, especially girls, to try new things, work hard, and believe that they can achieve their dreams too. Also my Nana was a quarterback!!!

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Ariana stated: One of my proudest moments was competing at the NFL FLAG Championship in Indiana with my Lady Dolphins team. We didn’t win the championship, but making it that far was an incredible accomplishment. I was proud of how hard we worked, how we competed against some of the best teams, and how we stayed together as a team. It showed me that sometimes the journey and the experience can be just as important as the ring.
