What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Arryn loves that bowling never gives him the same challenge twice. A new pattern, a new house, a new set of lanes to solve, and the puzzle is his to solve. He likes that the result belongs to him, good or bad. He also loves the friends he has made along the way, kids from all over the country who he only sees a few weekends a year but talks to constantly via social media. Those friendships will last a lifetime.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Mike Sinek, the General Manager at The Lanes at Fort Meade, in Maryland, has shaped him as much as anyone. In the last year, he has helped Arryn in various ways. He has exposed Arryn to various sport patterns, observes his game, and tells him the truth about what he sees, and lines him up if he needs to. That kind of steady, no-nonsense help has taught Arryn that getting better is mostly about showing up and being willing to hear what you did wrong.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

2026 Junior Gold in Minneapolis. Coming in as the No. 2 seed, Arryn had to get past a tough No. 3 seed just to reach the final, then beat the No. 1 seed twice to win it. Every one of those matches came down to the 10th frame. He had to strike when there was no room left to miss, and he did it three times in a row on national television. Watching him stay that steady with everything on the line is what I will remember.
