What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

It’s a healthy way to channel his extra energy and aggression at this age. He loves building bonds with his teammates and being active in games he grew up loving to watch. He loves the accountability from his coaches and teammates. He loves game nights and hearing his peers and his family cheer him on. He loves seeing the results from his hard work and winning games with his best friends. He loves getting to go all types of places and meeting new people. He loves the community sports bring.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

His dad & 5 brothers inspire him on and off the field. He’s the youngest of 6 boys. 4 of his brothers play football & 1 plays basketball and baseball. Sports have been a part of his life since before he was born. He grew up playing in baseball fields early in the morning, watching basketball games late at night, & in the stands of football fields in the hot evenings. His dad is his rock. The joy & pride it brings his family to watch his brothers succeed & have fun is what inspires him the most.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

I think his ability to always step up and lead and do better is what makes me the proudest. He’s always inclusive, never judging & always ready to learn, help, teach, & grow. As a lineman in 6th grade, he ran a couple touchdowns so that was another proud moment. His sportsmanship & ability to push through in the hard moments make me proud. Everything he has learned, he will carry with him for life. We are his biggest fans & proud of the young man he is becoming.
