Join the CompetitionI’m proud of my accomplishments, but I’m even more proud that I keep showing up and trying to improve. My parents always tell me, “We don’t chase trophies. We build character.” I want to be the kind of athlete who is hardworking, resilient, respectful, and humble whether I win or lose.
The person who inspires me most, on and off the golf course, is Jesus Christ. My faith reminds me that my talents are gifts from God and that what matters is how I use them. He teaches me to compete with courage, stay humble, and keep going through setbacks. My parents inspire me too. They remind me that my worth isn’t measured by scores, trophies, or grades. They push me to work hard, trust the process, and value character over results.
Our proudest moment of Asher wasn’t a win or a trophy. It was during the U.S. Kids Golf Regionals, when he made a triple bogey on the very first hole. At 8 years old, that kind of start can easily shake you, especially in an important tournament. But it didn’t shake him. Instead of getting frustrated or giving up, he became even more determined and focused. He put that first hole behind him, stayed in the present, and parred every hole the rest of the round to finish at +3.
