Ashton says his mom inspires him in baseball because she makes it fun, encourages him, and helps him overcome the mental challenges of the game. He says his dad inspires him in basketball and flag football, not only by coaching him but also by teaching him how to play and understand the game. His little brother also inspires him to be the best person he can be because Ashton wants to be someone his brother can look up to, encourage, and be proud of.
One moment in his athletic journey that makes him the proudest is when he took a line drive to his pitching hand, splitting it between his thumb and index finger, and still made the out at first base.
