What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Athena says it’s a place where she gets to be herself without being judged.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Athena said it was her dad that inspires her because he’s so strong and he used to play when he was a kid. She expressed that she wants to be as strong as he is.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Athena one day asked us if she could play in the travel team in town and we told her that to get on a competitive team she would have to work for it. She put all of herself into that season so that we would even give her a chance to try out and when she did, she made the team. I am so proud of how much work she put into it.
