Atticus never lets adversity define him. He works hard, loves the game, supports his teammates, and always finds a way to keep going.
Thank you for supporting Atticus in this competition. Your participation made a huge impact for the Why Not You Foundation and their mission to empower change in the world, one individual at a time and one child at a time.
What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreAtticus loves everything about baseball: the competition, being part of a team, making plays with his friends, and getting another opportunity every time he steps on the field. Whether he’s behind the plate, at bat, or cheering on a teammate, he genuinely loves being at the ballpark and competing.
Atticus is inspired by athletes who work hard, stay humble, and keep competing when things don’t go their way. He looks up to players who put the team first and understand that success isn’t just about talent; it’s about effort, attitude, and how you respond when things get difficult.
The moment that makes me proudest was watching Atticus respond after being cut from his travel baseball team. He was hurt and disappointed, but he never wanted to give up baseball. Instead, he kept working, kept believing in himself, and looked forward to his next opportunity. Watching a 10-year-old handle disappointment, get back up, and keep chasing something he loves made me prouder than any game he’s ever won.
