What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

The pool is her happy place. The water calms her body. The friends she has made fill her bucket. She has found a little bit of who she is on the deck. We are forever grateful.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Katie Ledecky- like Bree, she also has Autonomic Nervous System Dysfunction and hasn’t let it hold her back. Bree like to say she has “The Katie Ledecky water pack.”

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

I’m proudest of her will power to fit against an illness that tried to take everything from her. It wasn’t easy but she dug her heels in and refused to let it take her love of swim away from her. She went from struggling to even get on the block, much less off of it to diving in with purpose.
