Aubrey absolutely loves softball. It’s her favorite way to challenge herself and be part of a community. She’s particularly passionate about the catching position and is always the first one to cheer on her teammates. You can really see how much the sport has helped her grow; it’s given her a ton of confidence and taught her how to handle setbacks with resilience. For Aubrey, every game is a chance to work hard, have fun, and make friends she’ll keep forever.
Aubrey is inspired on and off the field by her cousin Jasmine and her catching coach Bianca. Jasmine sparked her love for catching and taught her to never hesitate to throw someone out and stay aggressive. Coach Bianca showed her to play the sport she loves with passion and to always pay it forward by giving back to others. Both inspire her confidence, work ethic and staying humble.
Aubrey always makes it a point to greet every umpire with a hello and ask how their day is going. One of Aubrey’s proudest moments was playing against Donovan McNabb’s softball team in Arizona Lil Cubs, where she made a play that had him fly off his bucket and argue with the umpire after a runner was thrown out. My proudest moment as her mom was watching Aubrey throw out a former teammate with a 97.37% SB average trying to steal second making her the only catcher to ever catch her stealing.
