What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreWhat he loves most about jiujitsu is the challenge. He loves competing, testing himself, and seeing how much he can improve. He genuinely loves being on the mat and the feeling of pushing himself beyond what he thought he could do. Jiujitsu has taught him that winning isn’t everything—it’s about discipline, perseverance, learning from every match, and always coming back stronger.
His dad is one of his greatest inspirations. He has grown up watching his dad dedicate his life to martial arts and lead others by example. His dad has taught him that being a martial artist is about much more than fighting—it’s about discipline, humility, courage, and protecting others. He inspires him to work hard, lead by example, and never stop learning.
I’m most proud of watching him step onto the mat and compete, regardless of the outcome. At 14, he has already learned to embrace the pressure, push through challenges, and hold himself accountable. Seeing his confidence grow and watching him genuinely love what he does makes me incredibly proud. More than any medal or victory, I’m proud of the young man jiujitsu is helping him become.
