What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Averi loves everything about BMX—the butterflies before the gate drops, the jumps, the competition, and especially the people. She’s usually dancing with the announcer before her moto, singing the National Anthem, making new friends, or cheering for other riders. She has never met a stranger and even started a girls’ BMX club so every girl she meets feels included. To her, racing is fun, friendships matter, and everyone deserves to feel like they belong.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Jesus inspires Averi to love others, be brave, and always help people. Her parents inspire her to work hard, stay humble, and never quit. Her two older brothers don’t go easy on her—they’ve made her tougher by treating her like just another competitor. Because of them, she’s never been afraid to line up against riders bigger, older, or faster than she is.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One race perfectly captured who Averi is. She crashed hard in the third berm, flipped into a full scorpion, and crossed the finish line in tears from the adrenaline. Before worrying about herself, she looked around to make sure the other riders were okay. Then, through the tears, she looked at me and said, “I had 3rd!” That moment showed us exactly who she is—tough, compassionate, kind, and determined.
