Join the CompetitionAvery loves the adrenaline rush he gets when running down the field or jumping higher than his opponent to grab the ball. He loves the thrill of the crowd cheering and knowing that he helped his team to another victory. That excitement and high he shares with his team after winning a big game is irreplaceable.
His late uncle Marcellus Jr. inspired him on and off the field. As a young boy he would watch how his uncle would break ankles and how he would out run his opponent. His uncle was a small guy like him but he showed Avery size didn’t matter. It was all about heart and love for the game. He showed Avery how to work hard on and off the field. His uncle was tragically killed in 2019 and now Avery carries that torch for his uncle to get them to the NFL one day.
There have been so many moments in which Avery made me proud throughout this journey. But one of the proudest moments had to be when his coach last year highlighted him at a parent meeting. Coach stated Avery might be one of the smallest players in size but he has the most heart and is the biggest dog in the fight. He said he could play Avery on offense or defense. He stated Avery was one of the best players he has ever coach because he could tell how much Avery loves the game.
