What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What my son loves most about playing basketball is being part of a team, challenging himself, and getting better every time he steps on the court. He loves the excitement of the game, competing, and being able to celebrate with his teammates. Basketball gives him something to work hard for and be proud of, and I love watching his confidence and love for the sport continue to grow.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

He says his mom is one of his biggest inspirations because I’ve always encouraged him to believe in himself, work hard, and never give up. He is also inspired by his coaches and teammates, who push him to grow as a player and teach him the importance of teamwork, discipline, and having a good attitude. Together, those influences remind him to keep becoming a better athlete and, most importantly, a better person.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of the moments that makes me proudest isn’t just one game or one win! it’s watching how much he has grown throughout his basketball journey. I’ve watched him build confidence in himself, show determination when things get difficult, and develop the resilience to keep going even when things don’t go his way. Seeing him continue to work hard, believe in himself, and grow both as an athlete and a young man makes me incredibly proud.
