What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Benitt is a fierce competitor because he truly loves to compete. Whether it’s football, basketball, baseball, wrestling, or soccer, he gives everything he has and never wants to quit. He plays hard, isn’t afraid of a challenge, and always wants to get better. But what makes me most proud is that he wants to play the game the right way with effort, respect, toughness, and good sportsmanship.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

His dad is one of his biggest influences, teaching him to compete hard, work for what he wants, be a good teammate, and always play the game the right way. He also looks up to athletes for different reasons. Trevor Lawrence inspires him by the way he carries himself as a player and person. SGA inspires him because no matter how big the moment gets, he always seems calm, cool, and collected. Bobby Witt Jr. is another favorite because of how hard he plays and has fun doing it.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of my proudest moments was my first wrestling meet of the year, which was only the second meet I had ever wrestled in, and I was able to take first place. The next weekend, my basketball team finished second in our tournament, and I was also going to baseball practices throughout the week. I love staying busy, competing, and playing different sports. I always try to work hard, be a good teammate, and most importantly, have fun doing what I love.
