Learn MoreBentley loves being a hockey goalie because he thrives on the challenge and pressure of being the last line of defense. He loves making a big save when his team needs him most and knowing he can make a difference in the game. Goaltending pushes him to stay focused, work hard, and keep improving. Most of all, he loves competing, being part of a team, and the feeling of stepping into the crease ready for whatever comes his way.
Bentley is most inspired by his family, coaches, and the goalies he looks up to. His family has always supported and encouraged him to work hard and chase his goals, while his coaches push him to grow both as a goalie and a person. He also looks up to successful goalies who show that hard work, determination, confidence, and resilience can take you far, both on and off the ice.
One of my proudest moments is watching Bentley win a shootout. There is so much pressure on a goalie in those moments, yet he steps into the net, stays focused, and trusts himself. Watching him make that final save and then seeing his teammates rush out to celebrate with him is something I’ll never get tired of. I’m proud of the confidence, composure, and mental toughness he shows when the game is on the line.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
