Bethany loves that dance gives her a place to express herself, challenge herself, and become stronger and more confident. She loves learning new skills, performing on stage, and sharing those moments with her teammates and friends. For Bethany, dance is more than competing or winning awards—it is where she feels happy, confident, and completely herself. She loves that there is always something new to learn and another goal to reach.
Bethany admires Olivia Rodrigo because she sees the same kind of passion Olivia has for music that Bethany feels for dance. She is inspired by how Olivia expresses herself through her art, works hard, and confidently pursues what she loves. Bethany hopes to carry that same passion into her own journey as a dancer—to keep growing, stay true to herself, and never be afraid to dream big. She is also inspired by her teachers, teammates, friends, and family who encourage her every day.
My proudest moment was watching Bethany step onto the World Dance Championship stage after an incredibly difficult season. She had experienced bullying that could have taken away her confidence and love for dance, but she refused to let it define her. She kept training, kept smiling, and kept believing in herself. Watching her team finish 2nd in the world was incredible, but seeing my 10-year-old choose courage, resilience, and her love of dance meant even more than the medal.
