Brantley has the heart you can’t coach: relentless effort, loyalty to his teammates, and the courage to keep fighting when it’s hard.
Thank you for supporting Brantley in this competition. Your participation made a huge impact for the Why Not You Foundation and their mission to empower change in the world, one individual at a time and one child at a time.
What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreBrantley loves the competition, but even more than that, he loves being part of a team. He loves pushing himself to get better, celebrating his teammates’ successes, and knowing they are all working toward the same goal. Whether it’s baseball, football, or wrestling, he thrives on the challenge. He doesn’t expect every game or match to be easy—he loves proving to himself that hard work, determination, and heart can take him further than he thought possible.
Brantley is inspired by his parents and the incredible coaches who have helped shape him. His parents have taught him to work hard, stay humble, and never quit. His wrestling coaches have taught him toughness and discipline, his football coaches have taught him teamwork and determination, and his baseball coaches have taught him patience, confidence, and how to respond when things don’t go his way. Each has helped shape not only the athlete he is, but the young man he is becoming.
One of the moments that makes me proudest is watching him experience those unforgettable “firsts”—his first touchdown in football and his first pin in a wrestling match. Seeing the excitement and pride on his face after all the practices, hard work, and determination meant everything. Those moments showed him that when he works hard and believes in himself, he can accomplish big things.
