What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreBraylen loves competing, having fun, and being part of a team. He enjoys making big plays and helping his team win, but he also loves encouraging his teammates and helping them get better. Whether it’s football, basketball, or baseball, he enjoys the challenge of competing and giving his best. For Braylen, sports are about more than scoring—it’s about teamwork, leadership, having fun, and making the people around him better.
Braylen is most inspired by his dad, a disabled Army veteran who grew up playing the same sports Braylen loves. His dad has coached numerous football teams, including his own 7v7 program, and helped lead the North Paulding girls basketball team to a state championship in 2026. Now, as Braylen’s football coach, his dad passes down everything he has learned. Braylen looks up to his dad because he teaches him not only how to be a better athlete, but also how to work hard, lead, and never give up.
One of my proudest moments was when Braylen scored the game-winning touchdown against his uncle’s team. Of course I was proud of the touchdown, but what happened afterward meant even more to me. He came over and broke down the game—the good, the bad, and the ugly—first from a team perspective and then from his own personal performance. At such a young age, seeing him understand that the game is bigger than one play showed me how much he is growing as a leader, teammate, and young man.
