What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

He loves the brotherhood, competition and challenge of football. Playing since age 4 has taught him discipline, resilience and how to work toward something bigger than himself. Now, playing at Cass Tech, he gets to challenge himself at a higher level while representing his school and Detroit with pride.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

His biggest inspiration is his dad, a former football standout who put his own football dreams aside in college to prioritize his family. His dad’s sacrifice, work ethic and constant support have taught him that success is bigger than what happens on the field. He encourages him to chase every dream, including football, academics, music, robotics and creativity. Most importantly, his dad shows him what it means to work hard, make sacrifices and always show up for the people you love.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Watching him grow from a 4-year-old learning football into a Cass Tech student-athlete makes me proudest. He has stayed committed to the sport while maintaining high grades and pursuing interests beyond football. Seeing him balance football, percussion, academics and creativity shows me that his greatest accomplishment is the young man he is becoming.
