What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What I love most about hockey is competing, being with my teammates, and always having something new to work on. I love the feeling of stepping on the ice for a big game and knowing my team is counting on me. Hockey has also taken me to places I never thought I would go and given me friends from all over the country. But mostly, I just love playing. Whether it’s a tournament, practice, lesson, or shooting pucks at home, I’m happiest when hockey is involved.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My parents inspire me most because they’ve taught me that talent only gets you so far—you have to work for what you want. They’ve made a lot of sacrifices so I can chase my hockey dreams, and that makes me want to work even harder. I’m also inspired by the older players and coaches I’ve met along the way. I watch how they compete, lead, and treat their teammates, because I want to be known as a great teammate and person just as much as a great hockey player.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The moment I’m proudest of isn’t one game or trophy—it’s watching Breck keep chasing his goals through so much change. In one year, he went from 8U hockey in Oklahoma to 10U AA and now AAA in Texas, all while moving states, starting a new school and joining teams where he knew no one. He never backed down. He worked harder, earned opportunities to play on national select teams, and proved that courage, character and determination matter just as much as talent.
