What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreWhat she loves most about sports is the friendships, camaraderie, and challenge. She knows that success won’t always come easily, so she embraces the work it takes to improve, overcome obstacles, and rise to the occasion. She loves the competition, and pushing beyond her comfort zone to build confidence and discover what she is capable of. For her, the greatest reward is knowing she earned every bit of progress.
She is inspired by people who refuse to be defined by what others think they can achieve; the underdogs who may be overlooked or underestimated but keep working when no one is watching. As a defender, she knows impact isn’t always measured by recognition. She wants to help others succeed by encouraging them, believing in them, and helping them see their potential.
I’m not sure there is one moment; I’m proudest of the pattern. She consistently shows up, works hard, and plays on teams even when she doesn’t know anyone. She builds others up and makes them feel valued, believing there is room for everyone to succeed. Lifting others up never diminishes her own accomplishments. Watching her become a teammate others can count on, and leading with her heart by including others is what makes me proudest.
