What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

They love the competitiveness, and the community. I think it’s also an adrenaline thing for her, she has this mindset that “pressure is a privilege” and no matter whether it’s a practice a quick shinny or a championship game she is always giving 100% and still trying to find ways to get better. She also loved how it made her so disciplined, if she needed to work on something for hockey she would incorporate it into her busy schedule and made sure she practiced it every day until she got it right

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

I think her mom (me) inspired her because she saw how much we as parents put in for her to succeed. There were times where she found an ice time or extra practice every day of the week and knowing that we would always be there to get her to those practices and were always in her corner cheering for her pushed her. Brooklyn is a very grateful kid and she was always grateful for the opportunity to just be on the ice. She also inspires herself, she knows anything is possible if she works hard enoug

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

I think what made me (mom) proudest of Brooklyn was when she was cut from a AA team and instead of giving up she attended every call up practice and extra ice with this coach and would constantly ask for feedback both on and off the ice until eventually the following year she found a better team and played for them and worked extremely hard at that level to and absolutely excelling.
