What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Determination and practice. Evolving the skills and practicing to perfection is where Brooklynn thrives. She empowers others in the gym to push themselves too. Every practice is an opportunity to get better.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Brooklynn is inspired by Aly Raisman not only for her role as a gymnast but for her role outside of the gym as well. Aly has a strong relationship with her family, teammates and community. She shows strength on and off the floor by being a major voice and face during the sports more tragic times. Brooklynn exemplifies many of these same qualities.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Brooklynn fell off the beam during a competition and skinned her thigh pretty badly. The entire gym gasped which only added the psychological fear of getting back up. I have seen most gymnasts at this level take a scratch and not continue the routine. She took the biggest deep breath held back the tears that you could tell were welling up and jumped back on the beam. She not only got back up and completed the skill but finished the entire routine flawlessly.
