What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreCallyn goes ALL IN and is always striving to be better each day and each season she plays flag football. She has loved it since day 1 in 1st grade, her first game where she scored her very first touchdown. Her confidence has grown over the years, which helps keep her driven and motivated. She just loves everything about the sport; pushing herself, playing on a team of like-minded teammates, and of course having fun!
Callyn is inspired by other strong female athletes. She learns from them and looks up to older players. She says, I want that to be ME. Her long-term goals are to get a college scholarship for flag football and to be in the olympics!
She suffered a pretty painful hamstring pull last spring season. It had her out healing for over a month. She missed football. She missed running. She finally healed in time for the school track meet, and came in 1st place in the 50 meter event! The next weekend, she played in a weekend-long tournament where she was knocked down hard by two players, not once but twice. She felt wiped out and in pain, but she just kept going. So proud of her for staying strong and keeping her head in the game!
