What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Calvin loves the challenge of baseball and brings an incredible mental attitude to the field. Whether he strikes someone out or gives up a hit, he stays composed, positive, and focused on the next one. He’s often up early and down in the basement training, always looking for ways to improve. He loves seeing that work pay off, competing alongside his teammates, and being someone his team can count on when the game gets tough.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Calvin’s biggest inspiration is his family. His parents, sister, and especially his grandparents are always there supporting him, with his grandparents rarely missing a chance to watch him play. Seeing his family in the stands motivates him to compete hard, stay positive, and give his best effort every time he takes the field. He loves making them proud, but more importantly, their support reminds him that baseball is about family, teammates, and the memories they make together.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

A loss. A 2-1 loss at Thomas College in Maine this spring in the pouring rain against a really tough higher class New Hampshire Majors team. Calvin pitched the entire game in the pouring rain, struck out 12 hitters and gave up 1 hit. This game was to advance in a weekend tournament, his team played hard in difficult weather. He threw over 100 pitches and did incredibly well. They couldn't pull it off, but after his last inning on the mound, he walked off smiling knowing he gave the game 110%.
