What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

The ability to push his body week to week and noticeable improvements in technique keep him wanting more. Calvin has built relationships with teammates and fellow competitors, he just lights up!

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

DAD is number #1, “when will I be able to beat dad” is the biggest question. The wrestling bond between these two is unimaginable. Next would be his older High School teammates who have had success. Lastly, the well known top athletes (Bo Basset/Max McEnelly)

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Teaching/guiding teammates, especially the younger athletes. Calvin has the brightest smile and biggest heart on the mat. It’s not always about him but to be humble.

Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
