Learn MoreWhat Calvin loves most about basketball is that it feels like a gift he is still developing. He prays over it, works at it, and believes anything God places in his hands should be developed with discipline, gratitude, and purpose. Basketball is precious to him because it is where his faith, discipline, joy, and purpose meet.
Calvin is inspired by people whose discipline, character, and perseverance speak to him, whether they are celebrated or simply living with purpose. Above all, his greatest inspiration is Jesus Christ. His faith teaches him that talent means little if character cannot carry it, so he strives to anchor his basketball, his choices, and the man he is becoming in Christ.
I am proudest when Calvin steps on the court and turns all the unseen work into earned minutes. He has faced disappointment and moments that could have shaken his confidence, but he chooses discipline over frustration. He keeps training, praying, and preparing. What makes me proud is not just that he plays, but that he stays anchored through every high and low, trusting that preparation will meet opportunity.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
