Honestly, this is a very tough question. Wrestling is one of the most difficult sports in the world. Camden has been Wrestling since he was four. As his father, I’ve never pushed or demanded that he keeps doing the sport, but Camden has a drive that cannot be taught, it is God-given. He pushes himself and I think he will never stop. That’s what he loves about this sport that it is so difficult and his brain is always moving and Wrestling just allows his body to keep up with his mind.
Camden has just started the fifth grade and while being a straight A student, repeat state champ, he has also already picked out his college. The person he looks up to in this sport is Bo Bassett. He cannot go to any wrestling tournament without his Virginia Tech hat on and Bo Bassett trading card tucked away in his gear bag. Bo inspires Camden so much because all the extra work that Bo puts in is what drives Camden to work out constantly and strive to be great in school.
The thing that makes me the proudest is how humble Camden is whether he is winning a national tournament or becoming state champ, he refuses to celebrate in front of his opponent that he just defeated. He will help them up. He will give them a hug and-say good job, but he will never scream yell or jump around because he thinks it’s disrespectful. That’s his character and I’m very proud of it.
