Cam loves competing. He loves the intensity of hockey, the physical side of the game, being part of a team, and doing whatever he can to help his team win. He loves big games, big moments, and the challenge of going up against great players. More than anything, he just loves being at the rink. Hockey is where he wants to be, and every time he steps on the ice, he wants to compete, get better, and win.
Cam’s biggest inspiration is his dad. He has always been there—coaching, encouraging, pushing him and believing in him, especially when things get difficult. His dad didn’t have someone pushing him that way when he was young, so he has made it a priority to give Cam that support. Whether it’s hockey, school or life, his dad challenges him to work harder, believe in himself and never settle.
Watching Cam leave home at 15 to move to Windsor and chase his hockey dream has made me incredibly proud. Not just because he had the courage to go, but because of the young man I’ve watched get there. He’s hardworking and kind, loves his family, and when I watch him with his team, I see a leader who looks after his boys and would d0 anything for them. Watching him take this next step is a pretty proud moment.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
