What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreWhat Cam loves most about playing football is the confidence it gives him and the sense of purpose he feels when he is on the field. Football gives him a place to focus his attention, work toward a goal, challenge himself, and be part of a team. Football also gives him a special way to connect with his dad, who played football himself. Sharing the game creates a bond between them and makes every practice and game even more meaningful.
Cam has a special relationship with one of his coaches, who inspires him both on and off the football field. Their connection goes beyond football. His coach believes in him, encourages him to push himself, and helps him grow in confidence. Cam looks up to him not only as a coach, but as a mentor and someone he can trust. The impact he has on Cam has gone far beyond the game.
What makes me proudest of Cam’s athletic journey is seeing how he has worked through adversity and allowed it to make him stronger. Injuries and moving between different team levels have challenged him, but instead of giving up, he has used those setbacks as motivation to work harder. Watching him grow not only as a player, but also as a person, has been incredibly inspiring and rewarding.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
