As a running back, football has taught her resilience, trust, and leadership. Soccer has shown her the value of determination, while basketball reminds her that every teammate matters. Sports have helped CJ grow, build lifelong friendships, and become the hardworking person she is today.
CJ is inspired by the people who believe in her and encourage her to keep going, both in sports and in everyday life. Her teammates and coaches inspire her to work harder, stay positive, and never give up when things get difficult. Off the field and court, the people closest to her remind her to keep chasing her goals and believe in herself. Their support motivates CJ to become a better athlete, friend, and person every day.
CJ’s proudest moments in sports were winning provincials for basketball in Grade 9 and winning the flag football championship in Grade 10. Those moments meant so much because all the hard work, practices, and teamwork finally paid off. Seeing her team celebrate together made CJ realize how much she loves competing and being part of a team. Those championships motivate her to keep working hard, believing in herself, and chasing bigger goals.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
