The person who inspires Carlos the most is his professor. He has taken Carlos under his wing like one of his own, providing guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support. His example has taught Carlos the importance of hard work, discipline, and perseverance—qualities that have helped him succeed both in the classroom and as an athlete.
The moment that makes me the proudest was watching Carlos compete at the IBJJF Pan Kids Championship. He committed to cutting weight for a month to compete in the 106-pound division, showing incredible discipline and dedication. He won his first match and lost his second, but what impressed me most was his attitude afterward. Instead of being discouraged, he immediately started asking when his next flight would be because he wanted another chance to compete.
