What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreI love the competition and energy that volleyball brought into my life. It brought new experiences and a different perspective on and off the court, whether thats making connections or good plays. Volleyball in general gives me a safe place and I feel that the people volleyball brought into my life always plays a big part. I love all my teammates, and the bonds i've created while playing the game is unmatched.
Someone who inspires me is my aunty (aunty Tasha). She pushes me to my full potential whenever shes able to, and her commitment towards my volleyball journey is unforgettable. She supports me unconditionally and shows up for me consistently no matter the circumstance. She buys me new gear when needed and also plays a huge role in getting to where I need to be, on time and safely. I'm truly blessed and grateful to have somebody that cares as much as my parents do.
What made me most proud was watching my child continue to give her best and work hard on the court, especially when the competition was tough. She remained focused, and even when her teammates felt discouraged after making a mistake, she continued to stay positive and offer words of encouragement. That moment reminded me that it’s not always about winning. It’s about growth, perseverance, resilience, and becoming the best version of herself.
