What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreCaroline’s day is structured around school and swim. She lives two hours in the water after a long day at school because being in the water is her happy place. She is challenged with her training both physically and mentally and she loves being part of her team. She is ranked fourth on a team of almost 360 swimmers and so she is a mentors to many of the younger swimmers, cheering them on during practices and meets. She even inspires her little brothers to become swimmers.
Caroline is inspired by her team mates. Victor, Ryan, Taejoon, Nikhil and JaeSoon are her closest friends on the team and they make her laugh and train harder.
When Caroline completed a 100 mile swim over thirty days and raised $30,000 and more for the American Cancer Society in memory of her grandmother who died of a terrible cancer, her team mates and brothers cheered her on. Her Fundraiser was noticed by the GoFundMe team in San Diego and they invited Caroline out to their executive board meeting to teach their board how they can get more teens involved in GoFundMe…that was a life changing experience for her.
