Learn MoreCarsten loves everything about football—the competition, being part of a team, and the challenge of getting better every day. He loves putting in the work alongside his teammates and seeing that hard work pay off on the field. As he begins his freshman year of high school football, he’s especially excited to learn, compete, and grow as both a player and teammate.
Carsten is inspired by Travis Hunter because of his confidence, work ethic, and love for the game. He admires the way Travis competes, believes in himself, and puts in the work to succeed at a high level. Travis inspires Carsten to keep working, trust his abilities, and never be afraid to set big goals for himself.
What makes me proudest is watching Carsten keep believing in himself even when a coach didn’t believe in him. Instead of giving up or letting it discourage him, he kept showing up, working hard, and proving himself. Now, seeing him earn a starting position as he begins his freshman year of high school football makes me incredibly proud. He learned that someone else’s opinion doesn’t define what he’s capable of.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
