What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Chesney loves being part of something bigger than herself. She enjoys the friendships, teamwork, and competition that softball brings. As a catcher, she loves being involved in every play, encouraging her teammates, and helping lead the game from behind the plate. Most of all, she loves the feeling of working hard with her team toward a common goal and celebrating their successes together.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Chesney is inspired by her parents, coaches, and faith. She admires the way they work hard, stay positive through challenges, and always put others before themselves. They have taught her that success is not measured only by wins and losses, but by character, perseverance, and how you treat people. Their example motivates her to be a leader, teammate, and role model both on and off the field.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Chesney hit a pop fly, The opposing catcher made an incredible diving catch to record the out. Instead of being frustrated/upset, Chesney immediately acknowledged the play and congratulated the catcher on a great catch. That moment showed who she is beyond softball. Her sportsmanship, respect for her opponents, and ability to celebrate someone else’s success even when it meant her own disappointment demonstrated maturity far beyond her years.
