What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Chey loves sports because they have taught her so much about life.She loves the competition, the excitement,and the feeling of working hard toward a goal. Most of all,she loves being part of a team and encouraging the people around her. Sports have given her lifelong friendships,confidence,discipline, and determination. Even through injuries and setbacks, she has never stopped loving the game. Sports challenge her to be better, push through adversity, and give her all every time.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Chey is inspired by the people who believe in her, especially her family, coaches,and teammates.Her mom has always encouraged her to keep going through every challenge, while her coaches have taught her discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.Her teammates inspire her to work harder and be a better leader.Off the court, she is inspired by the people who remind her to stay humble, positive,and determined.Their support motivates her to keep pushing herself and to be someone others can look up to.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

As Chey’s mom, I am most proud of her resilience. She has faced an injury almost every year, from her elbow and wrist to her finger and a Grade 3 knee sprain. Each injury could have made her quit, but she never did. She always found a way to keep going, support her teammates, and stay positive. Watching her push through pain, setbacks, and disappointment has shown me what true determination looks like. Her strength isn’t just what she does on the court—it’s the refusal to stop.
