Sports have given me the opportunity to meet new people, build lasting friendships, and develop strong relationships with teammates & coaches. I enjoy the camaraderie, learning from others, & working together toward a common goal. Competing in track, soccer, and football allows me to cross-train, stay healthy, & challenge myself in different ways. Sports teach hard work, positivity, & leadership while giving me the chance to encourage others and be a positive example on & off the field.
My mom inspires me. She lives with a chronic illness, but she still shows up for me every day even when it’s hard. She taught me to work hard, be brave, be bold and be kind. My birth parents inspire me too. They compete in Special Olympics and keep pushing forward even when society underestimates them. They’ve shown me that strength isn’t about what people expect of you. It’s about showing up and never giving up.
There have been many moments I’m proud of: setting new personal bests, standing on the state podium individually & with my relay team in track, making game-saving tackles in football, & scoring goals or assists in soccer. But the moment that means the most to me was receiving the Ripple Athletic Award in Spring 2026. It recognizes leadership & sportsmanship, I am proud that the way I act is affecting others positively.
