I believe my son loves most about playing sports is the friendship bonds and trust he builds with his teammates. He enjoys the excitement of the game whether things are predictable or unexpected and he loves being able to stay focused, compete, and challenge himself. He enjoys, showing his skills, developing new ones and learning from other athletes. Most importantly, he loves being part of a team, building relationships, and having the opportunity to challenge himself.
His family inspires him both on and off the field. They encourage him to work hard stay focused and never give up even when things become challenging. He knows that his family believes in him and supports him which motivates him to continue pushing himself and becoming a better athlete. In person, his family also reminds him to stay, humble, respect, others, except constructive criticism and always give his best efforts. His family are his biggest supporters and fans.
The moment in my son’s athletic journey that makes me the proudest is not one specific game, race, or accomplishment, but the way he chooses to follow his own path he learns to stay true to himself and not allow others to influence him into making choices that he knows are not right. I believe that taking the time to build something meaningful and lasting is far more valuable than rushing for quick success. Seeing him carry that mindset both on and off the field is what makes me the proudest.
