What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Colby loves playing football because it gives him a platform to show many of his skills. Colby is a natural leader on and off the field and being able to play a team sport. He is able to showcase his leadership. In addition he is very athletic and loves pushing himself. In addition he has a great work ethic and love setting an example to his teammates.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Colby is inspired most by his coaches and his teammates. He strives to just show his best at all times and appreciates the respect that his coaches give players in regards to their hard work and sportsmanship. Being a member of a team Colby is inspired by his teammates, knowing that it is a team sport, and both the offense and defense must work together to succeed.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

This past summer, Colby attended many recruitment camps across the south east to show his interest in playing football in college. He checked these moments to work with these coaches and recruiting staff very seriously, and I was very proud of the effort that he made to learn about the schools that he visited, to talk one on one with the coaches and to take his college career very serious. Watching him mature as a leader and an athlete makes us the most proud.
