Connor

What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Connor loves hockey because the game is intense and he gets to see and play hockey with his friends and stay in hotels at tournaments. He likes skating fast on breakaways and stick handling to fake out other players and get around them. He loves scoring goals or hooking up his teammates for a goal with an assist. Connor likes golf to see how far he can hit the ball and see the angles and how he has to get every stroke perfect or it's a bad shot. He likes the challenge of both sports.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

"Connor McDavid because he is a Center like me and I like the way he plays. I want to make it to the NHL someday like him. My family hosted Junior hockey players and I want to work hard and make my life about hockey, too. My older cousin inspires me to golf. He is on the high school golf team and I want to get as good as he is and golf for my high school and be on the same team as my cousin."

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

I am proud of Connor's ability to overcome adversity with his mental strength, passion, and attitude of never give up, which all supports his competitive desire to win. He will listen to constructive criticism and apply feedback to his game to improve. He knows his individual efforts contribute to team success. He has taken sports very seriously since he started playing as a 5 year old and seems to have a high hockey IQ & natural (left handed) talent that he constantly works at to develop.
