Join the CompetitionConnor loves the challenge of hockey. He is always looking for the next opportunity to improve, which is why he tries out at every level available to him, even when making the team is far from guaranteed. He loves competing, being part of a team and pushing himself to become better. When things don't go his way, he doesn't stay discouraged for long. He gets back on the ice, works harder and tries again.
Connor is inspired by Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog because of his resilience, leadership and team-first mentality. He admires that Landeskog fought through a long injury and worked his way back to the game. Closer to home, Coach Doelevoet inspires Connor because he supports everyone and makes players feel valued. Those are qualities Connor hopes to carry with him as a player, teammate and referee.
Connor is proud of earning the role of Assistant Captain, a reflection of the teammate and leader he is becoming. He is equally proud of pursuing refereeing, earning a scholarship to referee camp, and challenging himself in a completely different role within the game. Whether wearing a jersey or stripes, Connor takes hockey seriously, keeps learning, and continually looks for ways to grow.
