What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

He loves basketball, football, and golf, but honestly, he loves being involved in just about any sport that is going on. He enjoys the competition and the opportunity to challenge himself and get better. Whether he is playing in a game, practicing with his teammates, or trying something new, Connor just loves being active and being part of a team. Sports bring him a lot of joy, and you can see how much he loves them by the energy and enthusiasm he brings every time he plays.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Connor’s biggest inspiration is his dad. His dad has always been a huge sports fan, especially of the Vikings, and Connor has grown up looking up to some of his favorite players as well. But more than any professional athlete, Connor’s dad is his biggest role model. They share a love of sports and spend a lot of time playing together. His dad has taught him that sports are about more than winning, they’re about working hard.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

A year or two ago, Connor was recognized with an award for leadership and for making sure everyone on his team felt included and involved. He had a way of bringing the team together and making sure no one was left out, and his coaches noticed that in him. I was incredibly proud of him that day at the award ceremony. It wasn’t just that he was being recognized for being a good athlete—it was that he was being recognized for the kind of teammate and leader he was.
