She deserves Youth Athlete of the Year because she has competed at a high level in the 60m, 100m, and 200m also representing team Ontario.
Thank you for supporting Crystal in this competition. Your participation made a huge impact for the Why Not You Foundation and their mission to empower change in the world, one individual at a time and one child at a time.
What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreCrystal loves the competition and being able to push herself harder every time she competes. She loves competing alongside amazing athletes because they all push each other to be better, and she genuinely loves everything about track and field.
Sha’Carri Richardson inspires Crystal because she never gives up on the track. She didn’t start out as the fastest, but through hard work, determination, and resilience, she worked her way to the top and became one of the best sprinters in the world.
One of the moments that makes Crystal proudest is how she overcame a difficult experience at Nationals. After struggling with an injury, she had to leave the track and was unable to compete in the finals. Instead of letting that setback discourage her, she used it as motivation to come back stronger. That summer, she ran a personal best of 11.77 in the 100m and earned a spot on Team Ontario, proving to herself that setbacks can lead to even greater achievements.
