What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Basketball has also become a way for my son to honor the memory of his mother, who passed away two years ago to Lymphoma Cancer. Every time he steps onto the court, he carries her love and encouragement with him. He plays with heart, determination, and a desire to make her proud. The game has given him strength during difficult times and has become a positive outlet for his emotions. Rather than allowing grief to stop him, he has turned it into motivation to chase his dreams.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

The person who inspires him most on the court is his late mother. Her love, encouragement, and belief in him continue to motivate him every time he plays. He also looks up to elite basketball players whose work ethic and dedication push him to improve every day. Together, they inspire him to play with heart, stay disciplined, and never give up on his dream.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The proudest moment in my son’s basketball journey wasn’t just winning MVP awards or tournaments—it was watching him keep going after losing his mother. Instead of giving up, he used basketball as motivation to honor her memory. Seeing his resilience, dedication, and determination to chase his dreams despite the pain has made me prouder than any trophy ever could.
