What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Dj loves running the ball. He is a running back for his high school team in Louisiana. Every opportunity he gets to run the ball he takes it very seriously. He takes pride in getting his team into the end zone every time he runs the ball. Dj loves the game so, that even during his down time he is playing football on the game, watching sports reels of others playing football, and constantly speaking of what he will do when he gets to the NFL.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Dj draws his greatest inspiration for two people, his dad and his baby sister, Madison. His father is his inspiration both on and off the field. You might wonder how, considering he has never played football. It's the example he continues to set before his family that stand out. Dj always speaks about his dad being the strongest man he knows. He is always putting his family first and doing whatever he has to do to keep his family moving forward.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One moment that makes us so proud is when the team was in a really tough spot during the game that would declare them district champs or not. Dj had an injury to his ankle, due to another player falling on it. I knew he was hurt, but he refused to sit out. My baby ran that ball hurt and all just so he could help his team. Even though they did not win that game, the victory was still won in the way those boys stuck it out until the final second. I was truly proud.
