What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What they love most about the sport is the training and sparring. I enjoy fighting different opponents, competing in tournaments, and challenging myself to become better and stronger. I’ve been practicing martial arts since I was 3½ and competing since I was 4. I have competed more than 25 times in karate and 2 times in Muay Thai. In 2025, I competed in my first US Open Muay Thai tournament and won, and in Spring 2026, I won again, becoming 2× US Open Muay Thai Champion.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My family inspires me, especially my parents and their support. My mom used to be an athlete and competed as well, and she always pushes me to work hard, challenge myself, and become the best version of myself. My dad suffers watching me fight every time, but he is always there supporting me at every fight. Last but not least, my school Ki-senshi Martial Arts and my Sensei, Guillermo Montano, inspires me! he always motivates me to work hard, improve, and become a better fighter.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

I’m very small and lightweight. At my first Muay Thai tournament, I barely made the weight category, and my opponent was heavier than me. Every punch and kick felt really strong, but I didn’t give up. I used all my strength, training, and technique, and I was able to overcome the challenge and win the fight. All the long hours of training every day pay off when you finally win that championship belt. It makes all the hard work, dedication, and sacrifices worth it.
