What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Danny loves going out and striving to be the best version of himself. He is self driven and motivated. He pushes himself to be better and stronger than the day before. He’s been playing soccer since age 5 and it has become part of his life. Danny enjoys matching up against better players to be pushed to the next level. Soccer has helped him stay focused and live a healthy lifestyle. Soccer has also been a great distraction when times have been hard and rough and sometimes too hard to handle.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Danny is inspired by all the great athletes out there who have made it to a more professional level. They are a motivation and reminder that hard work truly pays off. Above all Danny is inspired and grateful to God for his health, life and the many blessings and opportunities he has had -such as this one. Danny’s hard work and example to other young soccer athletes in our community have taught Danny to always have a good moral compass and be the best version of himself on and off the field.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Life and his journey especially during his first year of high school were probably the hardest any student/ athlete should ever endure. Days and life were by far the darkest moments not just for him but for our entire family. Even then, he remained committed to soccer, and soccer became an escape for him. Danny’s resilience through this horrific process helped me to push myself as a parent to not let it define us or remain stuck in the dark. His refusal to give up has inspired me tremendously.
