What made me most proud of Darius was watching him handle his freshman football season with maturity and perseverance. Even when he was overlooked and faced favoritism, he never let it change who he was. He showed up on time, worked hard, stayed on the honor roll, came prepared, kept a positive attitude, and stayed out of trouble. Watching him patiently wait for his opportunity, then finally get on the field and light up with excitement, made me incredibly proud. He never gave up.
