What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What my son loves most about playing basketball is the competition, the challenge, and being part of a team. He loves working hard to improve and seeing that hard work pay off, whether it’s learning a new skill, making a big play, or helping his teammates succeed. He especially enjoys the friendships and brotherhood he has built with his teammates. For him, basketball is about more than the game—it’s about pushing himself, encouraging others, and being part of something bigger than himself.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

His dad inspires him because he is always there to encourage him, challenge him, and remind him to never give up. He has taught him that being a good athlete isn’t just about winning—it’s about working hard, being a good teammate, showing respect, and giving your best even when things are difficult. His dad leads by example and shows him what dedication, discipline, and perseverance look like (Whether he is cheering from the sidelines, helping him practice, or talking him through a tough game)

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

What makes me proudest isn’t just what my son accomplishes on the court, but the person he is becoming through sports. I’m proud of his hard work, determination, and willingness to keep pushing when things get difficult. I love watching him encourage his teammates, celebrate their success, and learn from both wins and losses. Most of all, I’m proud that he plays with heart, stays humble, and continues to love the game. Watching him grow in confidence, character, and perseverance is the best!
